LORETO SEA ADVENTURES
Whales And Wildlife Of Sea Of Cortez
The national marine park has done more than enhance sport fishing. The increasing numbers of krill and feeder fish coupled
with bans on whaling have caused more and more blue and gray whales to be spotted offshore. Sometimes in the evening, you can hear the whales spouting...Nothing Beats Magdalena Bay
When it comes to whales, Magdalena Bay on the Pacific Ocean side of Baja (a two hour scenic drive) still sees the lion's share
. There, it is not uncommon to see more than 30 whales in a day, some swimming close enough to your skiff for you to pet them. As there are no tourist accommodations on the bay, we
offer day trips there. Locally regulated guides will take you out among the whales (space is limited so contact us in advance).
Sea Lions and Dolphins
On one of the protected islands just offshore is a huge sea lion colony. We can arrange for a guide to take you there. It is
not uncommon to see dolphin pods swimming off our beach.
